Hello! Welcome back, we have kicked off the Year, and are buzzing with energy, creativity, and growth across every site. From college-readiness internships at Robeson to hands-on clubs and fashion at Dock St., students are exploring their interests, building skills, and stepping confidently into new opportunities. Creativity is rising, and curious minds are keeping our spirits high—this season is off to a strong and exciting start at BCCP.
🏫 College-Readiness at Robeson
One of our core programs at BCCP is college access. A key part of college preparation is exploring career pathways. Students at Robeson High School have begun their internships! From working with customers at UPS to participating in community workshops at Another World—a community center located in Crown Heights—students are developing a wide range of job-readiness skills. These experiences allow them to explore their interests while considering both college and vocational paths.

Erica is one of our students interning at Field Meridians—an artist collective that integrates urban ecology with social practice. They produce a quarterly neighborhood Observer that highlights local news and is distributed throughout the community, including locations such as Brower Park Library and Another World, one of our partner organizations.
A great New Year with Dock St.

The New Year has gotten off to a great start, and January has been especially busy for students at Dock St. With spring on the horizon, students have begun exploring and creating new projects. Dock St. is excited to welcome a new fashion instructor, and students are more than eager to work with them! On the agenda for Fashion Club is the creation of original pieces for the student fashion line—hopefully to be showcased at this year’s Artsfest 👀?

The Robotics Club has been staying busy, producing a robust collection of 3D laser-printed mini models. To round it all out, the Self-Care Club has begun developing its nail, skincare, and makeup series, while the Music Club is exploring keyboards through ’80s classics and hosting Karaoke Fridays.
