OUR PROGRAMS
PROGRAMS AT BCCP
BCCP positively influences the lives of more than 1,500 young individuals across 6 public and charter school campuses both middle and high school. We also extend our reach to the Brooklyn College Arts Lab (BCAL), situated on the college campus.
COLLEGE ACCESS
BCCP, backed by Brooklyn College's Psychology Department, strives to make college a reality for young people. Our flexible, relationship-based programs meet students where they are, supporting academic and personal growth. The Brooklyn College Experience, expanded to all NYC schools, offers campus tours, art-based workshops, college talks, and more. We also provide in-school College Access Intensives over several weeks, emphasizing practical, social, and emotional aspects. Our goal is to equip students with lifelong tools for success.
S.T.E.A.M
BCCP fosters a maker mindset in middle and high school students. Through hands-on experiences in electronics, design, and technology, students gain skills and pride in turning concepts into tangible projects. Design League, a Parsons-endorsed program, empowers students to create inventions with a positive impact, culminating in Emoti-con presentations and access to professional opportunities.
HEALTH & WELLNESS
We prioritize youth well-being with safe environments for physical and social activities. From jump rope to meditation, students can decompress after school and participate in structured programming.
CREATIVE ARTS
We ignite young imaginations, encouraging healthy creative risks in the arts. Our annual event, Artsfest, showcases their achievements.
PROJECT PEACE
Our flagship initiative, Project PEACE, promotes socio-emotional literacy to create safe spaces for students to address real-life challenges like peer pressure, bullying, conflict resolution, and social justice. We aim to reflect and empower the communities we serve.
ACADEMICS
At BCCP, we're dedicated to providing educational support that opens tangible pathways to higher education for low-income students. With a 30-year legacy, we offer holistic on-site programs that boost academic performance, address socio-emotional challenges through Project PEACE, and cater to diverse learning styles, socio-economic backgrounds, and academic standings.
SERVICE LEARNERS AT BCCP
BCCP collaborates closely with dedicated faculty members at Brooklyn College to offer students a robust service learning experience focused on youth development. This distinctive opportunity, an integral part of our mission, serves as a bridge between the broader college community and the diverse neighborhoods of Brooklyn where we are active.
